I am somewhat bemused that journalists – in this case Jaspan of The Age – get so upset by leaks considering that a: it is a stock in trade for any decent journalist and b: the subject of great moral posturing by the same when Government’s decide to find out who is “disloyal and unprofessional”. Having worked all sides of the fence I can say with great confidence that: a. you never find the leak; b if you do it is usually impossible to prove and c: rarely worth the pain and effort. Perhaps Jaspan should learn to live with it.
