I am somewhat bemused that journalists – in this case Jaspan of The Age – get so upset by leaks considering that a) it is a stock in trade for any decent journalist, and b) the subject of great moral posturing by the same when Government’s decide to find out who is “disloyal and unprofessional”. Having worked all sides of the fence I can say with great confidence that: a.) you never find the leak; b) if you do it is usually impossible to prove, and c) rarely worth the pain and effort. Perhaps Jaspan should learn to live with it.
