That old adage about never casting the first stone has come home to bite the Seven Network.
After making a big thing about the failure of the ABC last week to
broadcast the return of the nine dead from the Sea King tragedy, Seven
let media know yesterday that it would be broadcasting today’s memorial
service from Parliament House at 11am. Nine also indicated that it was
telecasting and there was the faint suggestion that perhaps the ABC
wouldn’t cover.
Then come 11am today and there it was: ABC TV and local radio, the Nine
Network – but not Seven. Seven was showing an American sitcom,
the previous decision to broadcast the memorial service having been
reversed after some ‘discussion’.
Never throw that first stone!
