The world’s biggest annual sporting
event blasts off tomorrow night on SBS with a must-see build-up before
the race itself begins at 1:15am Sunday.

This year’s race, a
21-stage epic due to finish in Paris on Sunday 24 July, promises to be
one to remember for SBS armchair viewers, with a record ten Aussies
taking part and Lance Armstrong looking to retire in triumph with a
record-breaking seventh successive Tour win.

Not only can we
be confident we will see yet more Aussie stage victories this year, but
the first might come as early as the first stage on Saturday. With a
19km pipe opener that’s less a prologue than a time trial, Australia
boasts two of the genuine favourites, Michael Rogers and Brad McGee.
