The PM has stated one of the most important facts of modern economic
life – the world is changing so rapidly that we cannot stand still, so
continuous reform is needed if we are to keep up.
The current round of workplace reform is needed to keep Australia
competitive, and before long further changes will be needed for the
same reason. This is so far from Labor’s view that all’s well in the IR
garden that there is finally a concrete, well defined political issue
on which we can all focus.
And isn’t it good to see Peter Costello taking a close interest in the
Vizard case, and especially the odd (to a layperson like Henry) claim
that Vizard’s accountant could not be compelled to give evidence
against him.
We also liked Cozzie’s suggestion that the newly crowned (appointed?)
Anglican Archbishop should butt out of the IR question. The grounds were
however a bit sus: “He’s no expert.” Next he’ll be telling the
Pope to butt out of the contraception issue, as he has no medical degree.
