The first federal campaign poster. Spotted, in Canberra, by the RiotACT crew, the first federal campaign poster. So early. Is this some sort of record?
Backroom boys. Louise Markus, the Liberal MP for a Sydney suburban seat of Greenway, has recently been advertising for a staffer. It seems to happen pretty regularly. And Crikey understands the reason for this is constant interference in the running of Markus’s office from her old friends at the Hillsong Church. Indeed, the lines between where Hillsong ends and Markus’s office begins seem blurred.
The election’s over, Ted. The Victorian Liberals appear not to have updated their website since the state election campaign. There’s no mention of new MPs, let alone anything like new or continuing shadow ministerial roles or new media releases. And a phone call from a lobbyist to leader Ted Baillieu’s office didn’t offer much in the way of hope. They were told “There’ll be an announcement in the next week or two. We don’t know whether it’ll be a big reshuffle or whether it’ll pretty much stay the same. I’m sorry but we’re not really sure at this stage.”
