The Three Tenors – John Howard, Kevin Rudd and Peter Costello (some argue that politically he’s a castrato) continue to hog the top spots in the Crikey/Media Monitors Tuesday Top 20 for the week of 4-11.
Victorian Premier Steve Bracks, however, has been thrown into the Number 4 position thanks to the Kerang raid crash and comments over the arrest of Tony Mokbel in Greece.
Australia’s broadband service might be pretty useless, but they’ve propelled Labor’s communications spokesman Stephen Conroy 11 places up the charts and into the Top 20. His colleague, opposition education minister Stephen Smith, has jumped 10 places to sit at number 19, thanks largely to his response to Paul Keating’s lessons for Labor on Lateline last week.
Peter Garrett is the big loser this week, slumping six places. But he’s used to the ups and downs of the charts and, anyway, we’re sure he’s more concerned about artistic integrity.

And on the outside? How do our leaders’ media mentions measure up? Well, on the outside on politics – but in the inside in Greece, this is what Tony Mokbel scored this week. With a media profile like that, the NSW ALP in the seventies would have found him a safe seat.
