Are our political leaders in their corners, being sponged down by their trainers?
The last 72 hours or so haven’t so much been slow news days as no news days. Dr Brendan’s oil gaffe has been revisited and revisited. John Hewson and Nick Greiner – Shock! Horror! – have criticised Morris Iemma.
Last night Channel Nine lead their news with the new security software system – something you think would be a routine upgrade. The Australian put the story on page one today.
Poor old Ruddock and Howard must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel if new software is the biggest thing they can announce. It’s not exactly a wedge issue. Who opposes software upgrades?
Indeed, who would have thought that the ASIO and Immigration computer networks weren’t linked.
If the government can’t turn security issues to its advantage, then it’s in trouble.
No rabbits in the hat – and none in the bottom of the barrel.
