The top four remain unchanged from last week in the Crikey/Media Monitors Top 20 for the week of 3-9 July as the indigenous intervention continues to make plenty of news this week.

Attorney-General Philip Ruddock, however, has moved up the charts with a bullet – or an alleged bullet – in the wake of the Doctors’ Plot, while Brendan Nelson has skidded on an Iraqi oil slick, sliding 23 places up the chart.

Two Labor figures have also enjoyed chart success for very different reasons – Tasmanian Premier Paul Lennon for his support for Gunns’ pulp mill proposals and Peter Garrett for the posture politics of Live Earth.

Talkback topics didn’t exactly range far and wide over the past week, but the PM still remained top of the pops on talkback. The presence of two State premiers in the top five reflected the lack of federal talkback comment.
