The Tuesday Top 20

The brouhaha over Kevin Rudd’s visit to Scores hasn’t been able to topple Prime Minister John Howard from his perennial Number 1 spot in Crikey/Media Monitors Top 20.

It’s pulp mills and horse flu that seem to have propelled the big movers up the chart for the week of August 21-27.

Tasmanian Premier and schooner pig Paul Lennon has leapt 19 places into the Top 20, and Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran has climbed the same amount.

The pulp mill issue – along with protests from loudmouth luvvies – has also pushed Environment Minister Malcolm Turnbull up six places and into the Top 10 this week.

Defence Minister Brendan Nelson is the other big mover, up 11 places thanks in part to his own visit to exotic nightlife in Adelaide – which somehow doesn’t seem to have the same ring as NYC.
