Bit of a laff. On Melbourne radio this morning Red Symons referred to the Summit as “999 of Australia’s finest minds, plus Corinne Grant at Cate Blanchett’s baby shower”.   Hugh Jackman does Phil Donahue: Succumb to the charm of the mutton-chopped Hugh Jackman as he serves as compere Rhys Muldoon’s “wing-man”.

The secret to Cate’s success. How did Cate manage to look so fresh 5 days after giving birth? The glow of motherhood…SKII masks? We think this Sunday Herald Sun montage provides the answer: husband Andrew Upton was clearly the one on the night shift.

The Ignatius connection. Anyone else noticed that the latest Blanchett-Upton child, Ignatius, who was born 5 days before the Summit, shares his name with the lead character of Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole? Unfortunate parallels?   A 2020 Summit tag cloud: To save you actually having to read the 35-page document that was fashioned from the hundreds of new ideas over the weekend, we’ve fed it through the tag cloud masher to bring you exciting words like ‘climate’, ‘creative’ and ‘innovation’

And here’s a Crikey version that’s much more engrossing:

Echoes of an earlier time. Our man on the ground, happy snapper Bernard Keane, took this shot of the gathered masses.

It reminds us somewhat of Tom Roberts’ depiction of an earlier gathering: The Opening of Parliament, etc.
