As the UN dithers over Mugabe, the African Union leaders give their tacit approval of last week’s sham election, and the pundits argue over the best way forward for Zimbabwe, an email request goes out to the already struggling local residents of Harare (it’s not a plea for international aid as supplies from outside Zimbabwe simply can’t get in as mail deliveries have broken down):
The hospitals in and around Harare have been inundated with babies and children who have been affected by the violence.
Children with broken legs, arms, children with severe injuries in need of your help. These children and babies have been separated from their parents/siblings/guardians through no fault of their own.
In order to help these children, the hospitals are in desperate need of:
Baby formula
Milk powder
Peanut butter
Pronutro etc.
Blankets
Baby wraps
Towels
Nappies
Clothes
Socks etc.…
Thank you for your help. It will be greatly appreciated by the children of Zimbabwe.
