The link between human activity and global warming… became settled before March 2007″, say the regulators – and that’s why they don’t fault Channel 4 for not providing an impartial viewpoint. Beijing acts to clean up Olympic air. The big games are less than three weeks away, and the Los Angeles Times reports that Beijing is further cracking down on pollution by yanking cars off the roads, expanding mass transit and staggering work hours. Last turtle finds a mate. Lonesome George, the last remaining giant Galapagos tortoise of his species and an international conservation icon, may have finally mated, after years of coaxing by scientists. George is a Pinta Island tortoise, who has lived in captivity for 36 years. — Yale Environment 360
