Lilly Allen versus Elton John – the footage! For our money, the onstage banter between Elton John and Lily Allen while hosting the the GQ Awards was this week’s trashrwap highlight. “To summarise events, Lily drank an impressive amount of champagne and swore a lot, Elton made a joke about her boozing, Lily retorted “Hey old dude, shut up, I am young and have what is left of my career ahead of me!” (not an exact quote, of course), and Elton reminded her of the impressive cocaine snorting abilities he once had back in the day.” — Defamer
Beyonce: Gaining 20 Pounds “So Much Fun”. For her role as Etta James in the upcoming drama Cadillac Records, Beyonce Knowles had to pack on 20 pounds. Gaining weight “was so much fun,” she says in October’s British Marie Claire But when she later landed a part in the psychological thriller Obsessed, “I had to lose it,” she laments. “I was so angry with myself. I was like, ‘D’oh! Why do you have to go through this?'” [Us magazine via Jezebel]
Oops, she’s doing the MTV awards again. Britney was a bomb as the star act at the VMA awards last year, and MTV’s just announced she’s doing it again this year. But… she’s not performing. Jezebel asks what exactly she will do? — Jezebel
Susan Sarandon disses “whiner and blamer” Hillary Clinton. During an interview with The Advocate, Susan was asked if she would play as Hillary if a movie about the politician’s life were to be made. “At this point, to say after what’s happened to her campaign and how they squandered all that money and all the different reasons her campaign fell apart, to blame it on sexism, I find so destructive to every young girl who dreams about making a difference through government. Instead of saying, “Look how far I’ve gotten and you can do it too,” and all the positive things she could have done, she’s turned into such a blamer and whiner, as if that was the reason.” — Ecorazzi
