Kevin Rudd and Barack Obama had their first face-to-face meeting today, reports The Age.

The first face-to-face meeting between Kevin Rudd and the US President saw a convergence of views in their talks on the way forward for the troubled international economy and a desire to work closely on climate change.

The President, asked about his message to an Australian public increasingly sceptical on Afghanistan, was cagey about the detail of the US’s unfinished review of strategy and non-committal about what more Australia might do.
