The Losers: None really last night because the cricket made it difficult to get a handle on figures. Likewise over the weekend and on Friday Night. Las Vegas on Seven at 10.30pm, 383,000. The CSI Miami repeat in the same slot, 455,000.

Nine won Sydney, and Adelaide. Ten won Melbourne, Seven won Brisbane and Perth. Ten won 16 to 39 and 18 to 49. In regional areas a win to Prime/7Qld with 25.9% from WIN/NBN with 25.5%, Southern Cross (Ten) with 21.0%, SBS with 15.1% and the ABC with 12.4%.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: Seven won last week from Nine and Ten. Ten remains the best performed of the networks this year with gains in all demographics. Nine is the worst performed with losses. Seven is in between with some gains, some losses.

So, 804,000 people watched the first session of the Fourth Test of the Ashes on SBS last night and that drained viewers from all four other networks. Ten, Seven and Nine finished close up. In fact, it was one those nights where everyone was a winner, sort of. In fact, the cricket was the highlight of TV viewing over the weekend.

The second episode of Rescue Special Ops was not helped by the cricket on SBS. It’s not there next Sunday night. Last night’s episode was like a reunion of Underbelly series one.

TONIGHT: City Homicide is back on Seven at 8.30pm. Australian Story on the ABC at 8pm. Farmer wants a Wife may be worth a peek on Nine at 8.30pm (but it’s really now a sad shadow of itself). The 7pm Project on Ten. SBS reverts to normal programming now that Australia has dusted England (at last!).
