Glenn Dyer’s comments: MasterChef‘s macaroon tree was silly. The polyurethane “tree” was tough to eat (it went well with soy and chilli). The whole thing was not a true test of anything, merely an attempt to recreate last year’s buzz about the croquembouche. It was culinary blood sport and more than 2 million people loved it. That’s TV.
TONIGHT: Packed to the Rafters on Seven at 8.30pm, Foreign Correspondent on the ABC. Greatest Cities of the World on the ABC looks at Roma … ahhhh. Ten has MasterChef and then Modern Family (hard to beat). SBS has the Tour De France at 10pm (and highlights from yesterday’s stage and the big prang at 6pm). World Cup Soccer semi final at 4.30am tomorrow.
