The Winners:
It was the case of a one show night, with an interesting assist to Packed to the Rafters from Minute to Win It on Seven where some bloke won half a million bucks for flipping ping pong balls into glasses (he had to throw two each time from the one hand). It makes Deal or No Deal on Seven look like Mensa material and Hot Seat‘s Eddie McGuire seem like Albert Einstein’s alter ego.
- Packed to the Rafters (Seven) (8.30pm) — 2.017 million
- Seven News (6pm) — 1.482 million
- Minute to Win It — (Seven) (7.30pm) — 1.437 million
- Today Tonight (Seven, 6.30 – 7 pm) — 1.417 million
- Top Gear (Nine) (7.30pm) — 1.336 million
- Nine News (6pm) — 1.306 million
- A Current Affair (Nine) (6.30) — 1.263 million
- Two and a Half Men (Nine) (7pm) (repeat) — 1.239 million
- Modern Family (Ten) (8pm) — 1.213 million
- ABC News (7pm) — 1.093 million
- Home and Away (Seven) (7pm) — 1.043 million
The Losers: Adults 20 to 1 at 9pm on Nine, 537,000. Nine is running this tired repeat at 9pm because Packed to the Rafters on Seven has sucked up viewers. So it’s Nine running dead. Nine had four repeats on last night — that’s nearly three and a half hours of TV. Ten had two hours of repeats. Ten and Nine do to minimise the cost of competing on a strong night for Seven.
News & CA:
Seven News won all markets and especially in Sydney where Chris Bath’s News has been under pressure from Nine. ACA beat TT in Melbourne, and surprisingly in Adelaide (the first time for eons). TT won nationally because of the big win in Perth and a solid margin in Sydney.
