Glenn Dyer’s comments: An unforgettable night. The ABC’s episode of Family Confidential at 8pm was on the Waterhouse family and media reports this morning say it was changed from preview copies in that certain comments had been removed.

It was not a promising start for summer viewing overall. Nor was the Test cricket audience which was just 411,000 for the period from around 10.30am to around 5pm. Australia’s less than memorable efforts killed it as a viewing attraction for Nine.

TONIGHT: Yet another night when viewers should be very tempted to find something else to do. But ignore the ABC except for The 7.30 Report. Ignore Seven, and Nine. Ten has The 7pm Project. Nine has a Top Gear repeat that will at least be entertaining.
