The Winners: Seven’s night, and Nine and Ten again failed to be as competitive as their line-ups appeared on paper. Seven had the top shows from 6pm to 10.30pm. The Biggest Loser (Ten) and The Farmer Wants a Wife (Nine) did well in the demos, especially amongst women, but these programs are underperforming compared to last year and what Ten and Nine had expected. My Kitchen Rules has over performed and is the most successful multi-program a week program of 2011. It was the big winner on the night.

On Nine, The Farmer Wants a Wife at 8.30pm, 887,000. It did well in the female demos, but it has nevertheless shed viewers from last year. Mike & Molly at 8pm on Nine, 737,000. A waste of half an hour.
News & CA: Nine News won Sydney, lost the rest. ACA lost all five metro markets, including a heavy loss in Melbourne with TT on 434,000 (the highest audience for any program in any market last night) to 293,000 for ACA.
Yet another sub 1 million audience for A Current Affair. That seven nights in a row.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: Laid, 481,000, down on its debut, but still good. Adam Hills in Gordon St Tonight, 802,000. Too much crammed in, so the interviews with the trio of guests suffered, as they did on the first episode.
TONIGHT: A collection of fading favourites, including Grey’s Anatomy on Seven, CSI on Nine, The Good Wife on Ten and Grand Designs on the ABC (a repeat). There should be a viewing caution for tonight. But it will get worse when the various football programs start.
