On Friday I wrote that the cancellation of the current season of Two & A Half Men would not lead to a permanent cancellation. Money talks and there is a whole lot of money at stake with this awful, unfunny show. But, an awful, unfunny show that is one of the biggest and most profitable shows in the world right now.

After Charlie Sheen’s efforts over the last 48 hours, it’s looking pretty certain that Two & A Half Men is toast. Give it a few days and Warner Bros will announce its cancellation. Unless Sheen enters rehab really soon (or dies), the continuation of the show is untenable.

So far, I think my favourite quote has been in an open letter from Charlie Sheen wrote talking about showrunner Chuck Lorre:

“I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels, especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly, I have defeated this earthworm with my words; imagine what I would have done with my fire-breathing fists”.

I’ve never seen a Chuck Lorre sitcom with a line that amusing.

Of course, they could just write Sheen out of the show:
