Glenn Dyer’s comments: Seven won last week overall, the main channels and the demos as well as the digitals. Seven won Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Ten and Nine tied for second in Perth overall.
In Sydney, Ten and the ABC tied for third in the main channels for the week, a sign of just how weak Ten’s mainstream evening performance is at the moment in the country’s biggest media market. With the AFL well underway, ONE had an average of 1.6% for the week, double the level Lachlan Murdoch thought was bad last week. Seven also won the regionals through Prime/7Qld
A brain fade on Friday, Dateline was replaced by the John Pilger doco The War You Don’t See on SBS last night which averaged 267,000 viewers at 8.30pm, which was the most watched program on the network last night.
LAST Night: Seven won All people, 18 to 49s and 25 to 54s. Ten won 16 to 39s. Nine was left behind. Seven has the week in its sights already. My Kitchen Rules will guarantee that, with Winners & Losers throwing in a bonus. That will mean Seven has won the first 10 weeks of the 2011 ratings battle with Nine and Ten.
TONIGHT: The ABC’s wall of news and current affairs programs. Australian Story at 8pm for the second part of the John Quigley story is the highlight. My Kitchen Rules starts its final week for this series. Nine has The Million Dollar Drop. And it starts The Big Bang Theory as its 7pm bit of ratings filler. Ten has The 7pm Project and The Biggest Loser: Families.
