Tiger Airways has suspended ticket sales which it was illegally making since last Saturday despite it being grounded as a risk to public safety.

Ticket sales on an airline not having a valid AOC or licence to fly are unlawful under CAR 210, as pointed put yesterday by former a former CASA official in a comment to previous post in which the chairman of the ACCC Graeme Samuel, mentioned that they were at risk of deceptive and misleading conduct.

The Tiger AOC was suspended until at least this Saturday.

In a statement Tiger says the talks with CASA on being allowed to fly again have been ‘constructive’ and it is working towards resuming services.

The talks are entering their third day.

Plane Talking has been all but cut off by storm damage and is using an intermittent Telstra network signal.
