Nine won overall and the main channels in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Nine was second, the ABC was third except in overall in Brisbane and Perth where Ten got up. Glenn Dyer’s comments: A weak night. The ABC’s Gruen Planet was solid.

The Seven Network has axed the local period drama Wild Boys because ratings remained well under a million viewers at 7.30pm on Sundays. The program started in September to an audience of 1.7 million but quickly sank to 1 million viewers and then to between 850,000 and 920,000 in metro markets. But it remains popular in regional markets and quite often made the top five programs in those areas on Sunday evenings. It’s combined metro and regional audience last Sunday was 1.445 million viewers (907,000 in the metro markets and 537,000 people in regional markets).

Tonight: The Slap on the ABC at 8.30. My Sri Lanka at 7.30 on SBS with chef Peter Kuruvita. Beauty and The Geek Australia on Seven at 7.30. Rush at 8.30 on Ten for those who like formulaic cop shows. Nine is a desert.
