Nine News’s New York … err Vegas … moment. Eagle-eyed Crikey reader David drew our attention to a graphic gaffe in Melbourne’s Nine News last night. It was presenting a story on Melbourne being 50% more expensive to live in than New York and, lo and behold, in the graphics behind anchor Peter Hitchener the image was almost New York, if, as David wrote “New York New York casino in Las Vegas counts”.
You see, if you google “New York” for images, inevitable pictures of the New York New York casino figure prominently. As David wrote: “Guess they didn’t notice the ‘Las Vegas Blvd’ sign centre bottom, or the roller-coaster, or the strange location of Lady Liberty …”
For Nine, if it can happen there, it can happen anywhere.
