The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven’s night. Outside of Sydney and Melbourne, Nine was surprisingly weak. Ten was stronger.
Viewers in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth aren’t quite as enthusiastic about The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men as well as the new program last night on Nine, Two Broke Girls.
Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and the back to back episodes of the returning Packed to the Rafters (which are the leftovers from 2011) were just too strong for the opposition last night.
Nine’s new program, Two Broke Girls at 8pm, 984,000, which is OK. But the quality of the opposition on Seven won’t change for another couple of months, so it will be a battle to make headway.
Tonight: My Kitchen Rules at 7.30pm on Seven, followed by Please Marry My Boy which has been shifted from Monday nights. Both will ensure Seven wins by dragging in female viewers. The ABC has the second Absolutely Fabulous 20th Anniversary Special at 8pm.
Nine’s highlight is the return of Sherlock at 8.30pm. It should do well. But it has been heavily promoted by Nine and that hasn’t always worked.
Ten has Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and then The Good Wife.
