The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven’s night and after tonight, it will be Seven’s week, for the third week in a row in official ratings.
Ten got done over by ABC 1’s strong news and current affairs line up, with picked over the remains on the ALP leadership brawl. Q&A had very high figures. Four Corners was the best report on the night with a powerful report on forced adoptions in Australia. A Senate inquiry reports tomorrow.
The combined audience of Seven, Nine, Ten and the ABC (1 and News 24) from around 9am to around midday totalled 830,000 yesterday as all the channels covered the Labor leadership spill to varying degrees. News 24’s audience was 100,000, nearly double the Sky News audience. News 24 had a high 1.5% rating in regional areas last night.
On Pay TV, Sky News topped the ratings yesterday and last night. From 8am to around 2pm, 57,000 viewers watched. In other words, the audience watching TV yesterday morning doubled from a normal Monday morning.
The Oscars live broadcast, from 12.30pm to 3.40pm on Nine, 380,000 and 271,000 on GO! last night.
The Allan Border Medal cricket presentation on Gem from 9.30pm, 117,000.
Tonight: My Kitchen Rules and Packed to the Rafters on Seven from 7.30pm. Foreign Correspondent on ABC 1 at 8pm.
Nine is desperate: Two Broke Girls and back to back fresh episodes of the sad Two and a Half Men from 8.30pm.
Ten has a fresh episode of NCIS, and a fresh episode of Bondi Vet. SBS has Insight and then Dateline from 8.30pm. The One Day cricket is on Gem tonight: India v Sri Lanka from Hobart.

NCIS Los Angeles, 8.30pm Ten, 504,0009. Ten was fourth for most of the night behind the ABC!

Metro FTA: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 34.8% from Nine (3) on 26.5%, Ten (3) was on 17.5%, the ABC (4) ended on 17.1% and SBS (2) finished with 4.0%. Seven now leads the week with 32.8% from Nine on 26.4% and Ten with 19.0%. Main Channels: Seven won with a share of 27.9% from Nine on 19.1%, ABC 1 on 12.9%, Ten on 12.3% and SBS ONE on 3.2%. Seven leads the week with 26.1% from Nine on 20.1% and Ten on 14.1%.
Metro Digital: GO won with a share of 4.9% from 7TWO on 4.7%, Eleven was on 2.7%, Gem finished with 2.6%, ONE ended on 2.5%, ABC 2 was on 2.4%, 7mate on 2.3%, News 24 was on 1.1%, SBS TWO was on 0.8% and ABC 3 ended on 0.7%. The 10 digital channels had an FTA share of 24.7%. GO leads the week with 4.0%, from 7TWO on 3.9% and 7mate on 2.8%.
Pay TV: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 29.5% from Nine (3) on 22.5% Ten (3) was on 14.8%, the ABC (4) ended on 14.5%, Pay TV was on 13.1% and SBS (2) finished with 3.4%. The 15 FTA channels had a total viewing share last night of 86.9%, with the 10 digital channels on 20.8% and the five main channels on 66.1%.

Regional: Prime/7Qld (3 channels) won with a share of 35.7%, from WIN/NBN (3) on 26.4%, SC Ten (3) was on 16.9%, the ABC (4), just behind on 16.8% and SBS (2) was on 4.2%. The main channels were won by Prime/7Qld on 26.9% from WIN/NBN on 19.2% and ABC 1 and SC Ten tied on 11.7%. The digitals were won by 7TWO on 6.4% from GO! on 4.2% and Gem on 3.0%. The Oscars broadcast on GO! last night didn’t do as well on regional areas as it did in metro markets. The 10 digital channels had a total share of 27.1%. Prime/7Qld leads the week with 32.7% from WIN/NBN on 28.4%.

Major Markets: Seven, overall and the main channels in every market. The ABC and ABC 1 finished third in Sydney and Melbourne, both overall and the main channels. ABC 1 was third in Adelaide in the main channels. In the digitals, GO win Sydney and Melbourne and shared Brisbane. 7TWO won Perth and Adelaide. Seven leads the week in all five metro markets.
