The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven won a fairly quiet night of TV.
Ten’s MasterChef failed to crack the million viewer mark last night, averaging 933,000 viewers from 7.30pm (for 75 minutes). That was a pity because the restaurant challenge was interesting. That’s the second night in a row MasterChef has failed to crack the million viewer mark.
Randling was better last night, but unfortunately for the program, viewers deserted it, only 491,000 people tuned in, almost 400,000 less than the debut audience.
Celebrity Apprentice finished last night and there was no evidence that the inadvertent airing on Ninemsn of vision of the winner the night before had any impact. Viewers were still reluctant to tune in. The boardroom bit averaged 901,000, the challenge section, 837,000 and the winner’s announcement rose to 1.036 million, which is like damning something with faint praise.
Tonight: NRL and AFL Footy Shows on Nine from 9.30pm. Hot Property is back on Nine at 8pm, after The Block at 7pm. Will the property slump help or hinder it? Ten has MasterChef, then Glee. Silk is on the ABC at 8.30pm (it still shows some promise). Seven has the split night with Better Homes in AFL markets and repeats of Border Security and the Force on Seven (plus a fresh episode of Medical Emergency). Then it runs Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. SBS starts what could be an interesting foodie program at 7.30pm about island food in the Pacific and South East Asia called Island Feast with Peter Kuruvita.
