The Glenn Dyer breakdown: A mixed night. Seven won overall, but not because of the strength of its programming on its main channel which was beaten by Nine. In fact the night was below par in the eyes of viewers. No program managed to top Seven News or Nine News at the top of the most watched list in metro markets. Seven News topped the metros with 1.344 million and 2.0001 million nationally. Nine News also did well with 1.309 million in the five metro markets and more than 1.9 million nationally.

More than 2.5 million people watched the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations on Australian FTA TV on Tuesday night, so how did the Poms go? Well according to the latest ratings figures, BBC1’s broadcast of the Jubilee concert on Monday night was watched by 14.7 million people, while the river cruise on Sunday was watched by 10.3 million viewers. And the Diamond Jubilee procession on Tuesday averaged 6.2 million viewers. The concert audience topped the UK’s most watched program so far this year, the final of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV which averaged 11.8 million in May.

Tonight: The NRL and AFL Footy Shows on Nine as well as The Block. Ten has MasterChef. The ABC has Silks.

In the morning: Today beat Sunrise for the first time this week, but Nine’s Mornings had its best audience figures since starting this year with the new hosting team and got the closest so far to Seven’s The Morning Show: just 18,000 viewers behind. Ten’s Breakfast fell even further behind News Breakfast which had 90,000 viewers on ABC 1 and News 24 over three and a half hours against the 27,000 for Breakfast over two hours.

Metro FTA: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 29.6% from Nine (3) on 27.0%, Ten (3) was on 23.8%, the ABC (4) was on 14.0% and SBS (2) ended on 5.6%. Nine leads the week on 30.5% from Seven with 28.9% and Ten on 20.1%. Main Channels: Nine won with a share of 21.1%, from Seven with 20.9%, Ten was on 17.8%, ABC 1, 9.9% and SBS ONE, 4.8%. Nine leads the week with 25.3% from Seven on 21.8% and Ten with 14.9%.

Metro Digital: 7mate won with a share of 4.6%, from 7TWO on 4.1%, Eleven was on 4.0, GO was on 3.3%, Gem, 2.6%, ABC 2, 2.5%, ONE, 2.0%, News 24, 1.0%, SBS TWO, 0.9% and ABC 3, 0.6%. The 10 digital channels had a total FTA share last night of a moderate 24.6%. 7mate leads  the week with 3.6%, from 7TWO on 3.5% and Eleven on 3.1%.

Metro including Pay TV: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 24.2% from Nine (3) on 22.1%, Ten (3) was on 19.5%, Pay TV (200 plus channels), was on 15.7%, the ABC (4) was on 11.5% and SBS (2) ended on 4.6%. The 15 FTA channels had a TV viewing share last night of 84.3%, with the 10 digital total share, 21.1% and the five main channels share, 63.2%.

In the digitals 7mate won with 6.6%, from 7TWO on 5.5% and Eleven with 4.1%. The 10 digital channels had an FTA share last night of a high 29.5%. Prime 7Qld lead the week with 31.5% from WIN/NBN on 30.9%.

Major Metro Markets: The results in the five metro markets showed the mixed nature of the night. Seven won Adelaide and Perth overall and in the main channels. It won Melbourne and Brisbane overall, but Nine won the main channels. On Sydney, Nine won both. In Perth, Ten was second overall and Nine was third. In the digitals, 7TWO won Adelaide and Perth. 7mate won Melbourne and shared Sydney with Eleven. Eleven won Brisbane. Nine leads Seven and Ten in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Seven leads Nine and Ten in Adelaide and Perth.
