The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven won All People however, like Monday and Sunday night, it seems to have fallen short of what it should have received last night. Perhaps it was a bad move to get David Leckie to quit as CEO of Seven West Media and replace him with an oil and gas explorer in Don Voelte. The oomph seems to be fading from Seven’s schedule. Nine and Ten did better in the demos with The Block and MasterChef, although Winners & Losers did well in the female demos.

Seven’s weakness between 6pm and 7pm in Sydney and Melbourne was again evident last night, especially in Melbourne. Seven has also lost ground after 7pm in Sydney and Melbourne, while it is not as dominant as it has been in Brisbane. Seven is being saved from falling further behind Nine by dominant performances in Adelaide and Perth where the Nine affiliates (which are owned by Bruce Gordon’s WIN) remain weak, especially in Perth.

Ten’s The Project last night verged on the ignorant, thanks to a combination of the hosts and guest, Paul Henry of Ten’s unwatched Breakfast. The “team” got around to talking about ‘‘ethnic enclaves“. It ignored past behaviour by migrants, but concentrated on possible “divisions” in the community. The silly debate was nothing new. The guest from the Islamic Council of Victoria battled to make the “team” understand their stupidity. “Ethnic aliens, ghettoising and never assimilating” were contributions from Mr Henry, a recent arrival in Australia from New Zealand.

Tonight: Myf Warhurt’s Nice at 8pm on ABC 1. MasterChef  is on Ten, The Block is on Nine. The big question for the night is whether Australia’s Got Talent fires for Seven at 7.30pm for 90 minutes. Seven starts a supposed comedy from the BBC called Mrs Brown’s Boys at 9pm. Wimbledon on 7TWO, then Seven’s main channel.

The Losers: Being Lara Bingle on Ten, at 8pm, 684,000. I may have to revise my belief that Ten will stick with this turkey. Even if it did well in the demos, that is a weak set of numbers. Two Broke Girls on Nine at 9pm, 587,000. Two and a Half Men at 9.30pm on Nine, 466,000. Are those weak figures why Nine didn’t finish in front of Seven in All People last night?

In the digitals, 7TWO won Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, while GO won Brisbane. Nine still leads the week in Sydney and Melbourne. in Brisbane Nine and Seven share the lead, while Seven is a very big leader in Adelaide and Perth, which is keeping Seven ahead of Nine nationally.
