The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Nine continued to run dead and, apart from MasterChef, Ten struggled. Seven won the night, with Sunday Night, second in metro markets with 1.482 million viewers, topping the nation with 2.252 million.

The Tour de France on SBS ONE averaged 289,000 metro viewers last night and 389,000 nationally. Around 1.1 million watched the Sydney versus West Coast AFL game on Seven and Pay TV: 532,000 watched on Seven’s main channels (211,000 in Melbourne and 184,000 in Perth) and just 102,000 watched on 7mate (48,000 in Sydney). 350,000 watched the game on Fox Footy on Pay TV.

Tonight: The hours of news and current affairs on ABC 1, MasterChef on Ten, plus the debut of The Shire (which will make Being Lara Bingle look good), Revenge on Seven, the Tour de France on SBS ONE and on Nine, more auditions in the US version of The Voice, just what the local audience doesn’t want to watch.

Last Week: Seven won easily. Ten did well in the demos thanks to MasterChef. 7TWO won the digitals. Seven won Friday and Saturday nights (but Pay TV won Saturday night when it was included in the figures). Prime/7Qld won the regionals. Nine running dead ahead of the Olympics helped everyone, as it will again this week.
