The Glenn Dyer breakdown: A look at the most watched programs tell us what last night was like for viewers: boring, in a word. Not one program after 7pm was good enough in the eyes of viewers. Nine won the demos, Seven All People. Digital viewing was high. News and current affairs programs had the top spots.

Ten was again weak and was, well, thrashed by the ABC and will end the week fourth behind the national broadcaster in metro and regional markets. Ten’s News at 5pm averaged 735,000 metro and 946,000 national viewers and was the network’s most watched program. Audiences slid from 6pm onwards.

Tonight: AFL on Seven (main channels and digital in various markets). Also on Pay TV. NRL on Nine on main and digital channels in various markets). Seven has Better Homes and Gardens in NRL markets in the north. ABC 1 has the second episode of Scott and Bailey. Ten has The Living Room and not much else. SBS has Jonathan Dimbleby wandering around Russia in Russia: A Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby.

Saturday: AFL on Seven (main channels and digital) and on Pay TV which also has the usual NRL line up. ABC 1 has repeats of New Tricks and Hercule Poirot. Ten and Nine have movies, Seven has movies in non-AFL markets on its main channel. The weekly repeat of Inspector Morse is on 7TWO at 8.45pm.

Sunday: The morning chats. AFL on Seven (main channels and digital) and Pay TV. NRL on Nine and Pay TV. Sunday Night on Seven and the next Kath & Kim: The Souvenir Editions. Nine has 60 Minutes and the second episode of Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War. Ten seems to raised its Tuesday, Friday and Saturday line ups to fill those holes caused by flop known as Everybody Dance Now. There is a new The Simpsons episode at 6.30pm on Ten. ABC 1 has the repeat of Miss Marple at 8.30pm

Metro FTA: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 30.5% from Nine (3) on 29.6%, the ABC (4) was on 18.8%, Ten (3) was on 16.7% and SBS (2) was on 4.4%. Seven leads the week with 31.6% from Nine on 29.2%, the ABC on 17.5% and Ten on 16.5%. Main Channels: Nine won narrowly with 22.4% from Seven on 22.3%. ABC 1 was on 14.5%, Ten was on 10.3% and SBS ONE was on 3.8%. Seven leads the week with 23.7%, from Nine on 23.2%, ABC 1 on 13.4% and Ten on 11.1%.

Metro Digital: 7TWO won with 4.5%, from GO on 3.9%, Eleven with 3.8%, 7mate was on 3.7%, Gem was on 3.4%, ABC 2 was on 2.8%, ONE was on 2.6%, ABC 3 was on 0.8%, News 24, 0.7% and SBS TWO, 0.6%. The 10 digital channels had an FTA viewing share last night of 26.8%. 7TWO leads the week with 4.2% from 7mate on 3.6% and GO with 3.4%.

Metro including Pay TV: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of  25.1% from Nine (3) on 24.4%, the ABC (4) was on 14.6%, Ten (3) was on 13.8% and SBS (2) was on 3.6%. The 15 FTA channels had a viewing share of last night of 84.6%, with the five main channels on a share of 62.7% and the 10 digital channels share totalling 21.9%. The 200 plus channels of Foxtel gave Pay TV a solid share of 15.4%.

Major Metro Markets:  Another good night for the ABC and another weak one for Ten. Nine won Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane both overall and in the main channels. Seven won both in Adelaide and Perth. The ABC was third overall in all five metro markets and ABC 1 was third in the main channels. 7TWO won Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Eleven won Brisbane, 7mate won Perth. Nine leads Seven and the ABC in Melbourne. Elsewhere its Seven from Nine and the ABC. in Brisbane Ten and the ABC are tied for third spot.
