The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Nine’s Big Brother regained the one million metro viewer mark after Sunday’s big drop, but the big story from last night was the dip under a million for Underbelly: Badness to 990,000 metro viewers (and 1.385 million nationally). That is clearly not enough for such an expensive program. The Underbelly format is running out of puff and is no longer holding viewers like it did even last year. It started this season with more than 1.6 million metro viewers and more than 2 million nationally, so the loss is substantial. Big Brother lost around 90,000 viewers from last Monday as well.
Can of Worms on Ten at 8.30pm held up and averaged 600,000 metro and 802,000 national viewers. It was Ten’s second most popular program. That was 87,000 more than the 513,000 (704,000 nationally) who stayed with the disappointing Don’t Tell The Bride. GCB on Seven at 8.40pm averaged 758,000 metro and 1.070 million national viewers for the first episode. Four Corners had 857,000 metro and 1.2 million national viewers from 8.30pm to 9.20pm on ABC 1.
Seven easily won All People, but the demos were tighter.
