Seven up, Farmer wants some viewers

Seven's night, again. Nine was a distant second with The Farmer Wants a Wife again weak.

The Glenn Dyer breakdown: Seven’s night, again. Nine was a distant second with The Farmer Wants a Wife again weak. The ABC was third and Ten fourth as Puberty Blues hung in there.

The X Factor had 1.5 million and 2.2 million national viewers for a program that was extended by 20 minutes or so at the last minute past its programmed 8.30pm finish (not in the advance guides). Puberty Blues had 673,000 metro and 939,000 national viewers at 8.30pm on Ten. Gruen Planet on ABC 1 had 939,000 metro and 1.3 million viewers from 8.309.10pm. Big Brother 954,000 metro and 1.2 million national viewers for an extended program.

Tonight: AFL and NRL footy shows on Nine and Ten in various markets at varying times. Rake on ABC 1 at 8.30pm. Ignore Lowdown at 9.30pm. It started last week and had hardly any viewers and will repeat the dose tonight. SBS has its usual foodie programs on One. Seven has the documentary Empire at 7.30pm in NRL markets and Better Homes and Gardens in AFL markets. The network reunites for Criminal Minds at 8.30pm and then again at 9.30pm. 7TWO has Inspector Morse instead of Lewis around 8.30pm.

The Losers: Ten, (yes, again). I Will Survive had just 281,000 metro and national viewers at 7.30pm, finishing fifth out of five FTA networks in that timeslot and beaten by the documentary Bears of the Last Frontier on SBS ONE (330,000 metro and 575,000 national viewers). The Farmer Wants a Wife on Nine had 775,000 metro and 1.1 million national viewers. Down a fraction for last week and the program is showing its age.

Metro News & CA: Nine News won Sydney and Melbourne, lost Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth (heavily). A Current Affairs won Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, lost Adelaide and Perth by heavy margins (again).

Metro FTA: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 33.3% from Nine (3) on 26.2%, the ABC (4) was on 18.5%, Ten (3) was on 16.0% and SBS (2) ended on 5.9%. Seven leads the week with 32.7% from Nine on 26.3% and the ABC on 19.5% and Ten on 16.3%.

Main Channels: Seven won with a share of 24.1% from Nine on 19.8%, ABC 1, 13.7%, Ten, 9.5% and SBS, 5.2%. Seven leads the week with 24.3% from Nine on 20.1%, ABC 1, 14.6% and Ten on 10.6%.

Metro Digital: 7TWO won with 5.3% from GO on 4.3%, 7mate and Eleven on 3.9%, ABC 2 on 2.8%, ONE on 2.5%, Gem on 2.2%. News 24 was on 1.1%, ABC 3 ended on 0.9% and SBS TWO was on 0.7%. The 10 digital channels had a total FTA share last night of 27.6%. 7TWI leads the week with 4.4% from 7mate on 4.0% and GO on 3.6%.

Metro including pay TV: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 27.7% from Nine (3) on 21.8%, the ABC (4) was on 15.4%, Ten (3) was on 13.3% and SBS (2) ended on 4.9%. The 15 FTA channels had a total share last night of 85.2% with the five main channels with 62.1% and the 10 digital channels share 23.1%. The 200-plus channels on Foxtel gave a total share to Pay TV of 14.8% in prime time last night.

Prime/7Qld won the main channels with 24.8% from WIN/NBN on 18.7%, ABC 1, 11.8% and SC Ten was on 8.7%. 7TWO won the digitals with 6.7% from 7mate on 5.5% and GO and Eleven on 3.5% each. The 10 digital channels had a high FTA share of 30.8%. Prime/7Qld leads the week with 35.7%, from WIN/NBN on 26.1% , the ABC with 18.7% and SC Ten on 14.5%.

Major metro markets: A clean sweep for Seven, Nine and the ABC/ABC 1 as the finish first, second and third overall, and the in the main channels in all five metro markets. 7TWO won the digitals in Sydney and Brisbane; Go won Melbourne, 7mate won Adelaide and Eleven won Perth. Seven leads the week in all five metro markets with Nine second and the ABC third, except in Perth where Ten is now third.
