A very dull night. But Ten can’t be happy with the way MasterChef lingers down the lists, and Seven won’t be pleased that The Mole shed 164,000 metro viewers and 81,000 regional viewers (and 245,000 nationally to 1.069 million from Tuesday night’s 1.314 million viewers. Ouch). Not a vote of confidence in the program, and it faces a battle to keep its head above water. Ten’s Offspring (988,000 national/ 696,000 metro/ 292,000 regional viewers) was also a bit light on, thanks to the weak performance of MasterChef (928,000 national/ 673,000 metro/ 255,000 regional viewers).

Wednesday Night Fever started modestly on ABC1 at 9.30pm with 872,000 national/ 579,000 metro/ 293,000 regional viewers. On ABC1 7.30  (1.222 million/ 835,000 metro/ 387,000 regional viewers) had a brilliant story on a NSW crime still running things in jail, which showed up his higher-paid TV peers. But the pre-recorded interview with Prime Minister Kevin Rudd  for a week!) looked disjointed and should have been live if it had been possible. Of greater interest will be if Tony Abbott says “yes” to the program’s invitation to appear tonight. Q&A is in Indonesia tonight. Will Tony Jones conduct himself in an Australian way, or Indonesian way?

Nine won the night in both metro and regional markets, thanks to The Block (1.946 million  national/ 1.355 million metro/ 591,000 regional viewers).
