A funny old night. Seven’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of  S.H.I.E.L.D. was pre-empted in the US, so it couldn’t be fast-tracked. Seven slotted the hole with a movie and had a weak night as a result — so weak in fact, that in a couple of markets its main channel was beaten by Ten!  It was one of Seven’s weakest nights of the year, but after the huge wins on Sunday and Monday nights, the week is secure.
Overall it was Nine’s night in metro markets with the ABC also stronger and Ten doing OK, but not brilliantly. But in regional markets, Seven got home in All People overall and in the main channels and the ABC comfortably beat Ten into fourth spot.

Seven’s 7.3opm SlideShow (1.091 million national/ 626,000 metro/ 465,000 regional viewers) stood out because it continues to weaken, despite being a reasonable format. Ten’s The Bachelor Australia (920,000 national/ 649,000 metro/ 271,000 regional viewers) showed a spark of ratings life as it heads down to last four turkeys left in his menagerie. That helped Wonderland stumble higher — it had 742,000 national/ 516,000 metro/ 226,000 regional viewers. Nine’s Hostages continues to show why US viewers don’t like it. It had 898,000 national/ 642,000 metro/ 356,000 regional viewers. Big Brother though continues to attract the kiddiewinks and had 1.192 million national/ 842,000 metro/ 350,000 regional viewers. Home and Away had 1.335 million national/820,000 metro/ 515,000.
ABC1′s Gruen Planet (1.454,000 national. 1.004 million metro/ 450,000 regional viewers) and Ja’mie: Private School Girl — had a solid second night with 1.149 million national/ 880,000 metro/ 269,000 regional viewers.
