So how did the first of the four epic episodes with the Bankstown boy go for the ABC last night? Well, pretty strong. Keating was the second most popular program at 8.30pm with (1.314 million national/ 886,000 metro/ 528,000 regional viewers) after Seven’s Dancing With The Stars (1.808 million national/ 1.204 million metro/ 606,000 regional viewers).

Seven won the night easily in metro and regional markets in All People and the demographics. Home and Away at 7pm — 1.607 million national/ 1.041 million metro/ 566,000 regional viewers — was the fourth most watched program nationally and metro markets.

The real story from last night was the dud programming from Nine. Did it catch Ten’s disease? Super Fun Night at 8pm on Nine (768,000 national/ 524,000 metro/ 244,000 regional viewers) was weak (and Rebel Wilson’s faux American accent is grating), but even that flawed offering was more appealing to viewers than the two episodes of Revolution which started at 8.30pm (541,000 national/342,000 metro/ 201,000 regional viewers) and the second episode at 9.30 (486,000 national/ 316,000 metro/ 170,000 regional viewers). Nine was a very weak fourth and very Ten-ish. Add Revolution to the long list of duds from the US and UK for the networks this year. No wonder Nine hung onto it for a year.

Ten wrapped up Recipe to Riches at 7.30 pm last night (723,000 national/504,000 metro/ 219,000 regional viewers). Obviously a success for Woolies, but not for Ten or its audience. The ABC1 9.30pm program, At The Movies did better (721,000 national/ 516,000 metro/ 205,000 regional viewers) in metro markets than the Recipes To Riches effort at 7.30pm. Tuesday nights have become Ten’s best night of the week since NCIS returned and although it did better in the demos than the ABC, Recipe to Riches let the network down last night and has during its time on air by not attracting more viewers.

Ten’s Wake Up got a few thousand more viewers to average 36,000 in the five metro markets. Studio 10 found 12,000 more to average 44,000 in the five metro markets. Both are still below the metro average for last week of 44,000 and 48,000 respectively. Nationally, Studio 10 moved above its first week average of 67,000 with 72,000 viewers (and a high 28,000 regional viewers). Wake Up’s national audience of 55,000 was still under the 65,000 average of last week and the 19,000 regional viewers was under the first week average of 19,000.
