A stronger night for Seven and Nine couldn’t bridge the gap, despite more solid figures for the second last episode of The Block and the fresh episode of The Big Bang Theory. My Kitchen Rules and Resurrection had too many viewers, especially in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. As a result, Seven won the night overall and in the main channels. It was a similar story in regional markets as Seven won well from Nine, with the ABC third in both sets of markets. Ten was a weak fourth with its main channel share reaching 9.5% in metro, but only 8.0% in regionals.
Resurrection (2.073 million national/ 1.388 million metro/ 685,000 regional viewers) lost more than 160,000 viewers from the previous week in metro markets and is around 500,000 under the debut figures of just over two illion. But it still did better than the fresh episode of The Big Bang Theory (1.878 million national/ 1.298 million metro/ 580,000 regional viewers). The repeat episode of The Big Bang Theory had 1.346 million viewers, so the hour averaged 1.612 million viewers — 450,000 behind Resurrection. My Kitchen Rules again topped the night with 2.433 million national/ 1.672 million metro/ 761,000 regional viewers.
Nine’s Today had a rare metro win over Seven’s Sunrise — 339,000 to 337,000 – not much. But nationally Sunrise was an easy winer, 577,000 to 511,000. Seven News again lost Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Nine News.
