Seven’s night thanks to House Rules. That was in metro and regional markets (where Seven’s margin was again larger). Ten’s MasterChef again failed to reach a million metro viewers. The ABC was weak. House Rules started its next semi-final with 2.193 million national/ 1.375 million metro/ 818,000 regional viewers and dominated the night. Ten’s MasterChef had 1.212 million national/ 900,000 metro/ 312,000 regional viewers. Tonight is its chance to shine!

Nine’s  6pm news again won Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Seven News had big wins in Perth and Adelaide and the margins there were enough to push Seven in front in the metro markets. In the morning Today again failed to crack the 300,000 viewer level in the metros (295,000). That’s despite Today beating Sunrise in Sydney and Melbourne. The failure by Today and its crew to regain and hold above 300,000 people a morning in metro markets has been going on for the best part of eight months.

Oddly, Nine premiered The Hunger Games at 8.30 on GO — it averaged a very solid 609,000 national/ 406,000 metro/ 203,000 regional viewers. I wonder why it wasn’t on Nine’s main channel, where it would have done a bit better with a bigger potential audience than for GO.
