Nine’s night nationally and in the metros, and a very good night for Ten in the metros (break out the Fanta gang, the good times are back!), thanks to MasterChef Australia. In fact in the metros, Ten’s main channel nipped in front of Seven to finish second on the night behind Nine. But that wasn’t repeated in the regions and Seven’s main channel was a clear second, with Ten’s primary channel a clear third. Its regional main channel share of 12.1% was well behind its metro share of 19.1%.

MasterChef Australia had 1.619 million national viewers/ 1.239 million metro/ 380,000 regional viewers, while the MasterClass had 1.368 million national/ 1.050 million metro/ 318,000 regional viewers. Once again Ten’s weakness let it down badly. No wonder Southern Cross Media isn’t happy. Seven News and Home and Away were the standouts for Seven, the rest of the night faded. The Time of Their Lives continue to  lose the plot on ABC1 at 8.30pm.
