Nine’s night in metro and regional markets thanks to The Block Glasshouse (1.815 million national/ 1.231 million metro/ 588,000 regional viewers) and Nine’s 6pm News which had a big win over Seven News, especially in Sydney (by 132,000), Melbourne (by 111,000) and Brisbane (by 62,000) and beat Seven News by 300,000 nationally. The ABC was third and Ten was again fourth in both metro and regional markets.
Seven’s The X Factor was in results mode and audiences didn’t flock to the program for the update — it could only manage 1.756 million national/ 1.108 million metro/ 648,000 regional viewers. That was the best audience in regional markets where viewers again saved this underperformer and boosted it to third most-watched nationally from a weak fourth spot in the five metro markets. In the morning, Nine’s Today started the week with a 300,000 plus audience — 328,000 v Sunrise’s 361,000. But nationally, Sunrise with 587,000 easily beat Today with 489,000.
