Seven won Total People in the metros and regional markets where Seven’s margin was more clear cut over Nine. Nine won the demos, even though Big Brother’s metro audience sank to just 591,000.

Seven’s share in the demos from 16 to 54 fell to third last night because Dancing With The Stars (which skews old) was the most watched program after 7 pm and mopped up all the older (silver) voters. The old girl was a bit of fun last night.

Seven News lost the 6 to 6.30pm battle to Nine News by 111,000 in Sydney, 120,000 in Melbourne and 62,000 in Brisbane. A big double ouch. Dancing With The Stars managed 1.350 million national/ 902,000 metro/ 487,000 regional viewers for two hours from 7.30pm. It was the third most watched program nationally, the second most watched in regional markets and the second most watched in the metros. Home and Away again was the most dependable program in anyone’s line up — its 1.433 million national viewers was second to Nine News’ 1.479 million. It was the third most watched metro program and the most watched in regional markets. Big Brother could only manage 801,000 national viewers. Ten’s NCIS was a top ten finisher with 1.014 million viewers.
