The Beast (AKA My Kitchen Rules) has easily eaten the two of the three final episodes of Nine’s The Block on Monday and Tuesday night, but in an act of generosity, Seven has returned the animal to the pantry where it will rest until its final two episodes next Sunday and Monday nights. That means the grand final of The Block tonight has open slather and if it can’t crack the 2 million national audience figure tonight, it will be a flop — not that it will be a stunning success if it does. Monday night The Beast ate The Block by 600,000 viewers, while last night the winning margin was more than half a million.

My Kitchen Rules had 2.236 million national viewers on Monday night and The Block had 1.635 million. Last night My Kitchen Rules had 2.191 million and The Block had 1.658 million. Seven’s Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (on the Costa Dirty Sol) had over a million viewers, meaning Seven dominated the night from 9pm until 10 pm.

Losers: TV viewers with the news from Ten that spurned girlie for The Bachelor, Sam Frost, is the Network’s first Bachelorette. Is that a second prize, or an apology from Ten for the appalling way Frost was treated last year  around and after the final of The Bachelor? Talk about meat market TV. Frost mustn’t to be too bruised from last year’s experience if she is prepared to front up for the new program and be willing to put men through the same treatment (potentially).Metro news and current affairs:
