Nine’s night in metro and regionals (main channels there, Seven won overall) as The Voice again topped the night with nearly 2 million national viewers, including 556,000 in the regionals (Number 1). Masterchef Australia was second as the finals week advances — it had 1.640 million national viewers, including 409,000 regional viewers, which is OK. Seven was weak in the metros.

In fact in the metro main channels Ten (17.8%) pushed Seven back to third (17.1%) on yet another night. Winners and Losers did OK second night out for Seven, back dropped under a million national viewers and in the metros managed 589,000 and was beaten by Joanna Lumley’s Trans-Siberian Adventure on ABC which managed 640,000. But Winners and Losers had the better demos.

The 7pm part of The Project cracked the top 10 nationally with 1.074 million viewers, well ahead of 7.30 which had 975,000. The margin in the metros was a bit bigger: 790,000 to 667,000.

In the morning Today (290,000 metro viewers) beat Sunrise (280,000) in metro breakfast (it was the other way round nationally). Those metro wins for Today are starting to come a little more frequently.
