First it was Cats Making Us Laugh Out Loud last Tuesday night, then last night it was the turn of the doggies to make us chuckle (and watch); next Tuesday it’s Pets Make Us Laugh Out Loud. Seven is returning to the well of pet vids that giveth and giveth to try and repair the damage to its ratings taken by the weak performance of House Rules and then the flop AKA Restaurant Revolution.
The dogs outrated the cats. The dogs averaged 1.716 million national viewers last night, against 1.567 million for the cats a week earlier. In the metros the dogs averaged 1.039 million and the cats, 917,000. In the regions, the Dogs 677,000 last night, the cats, 650,000 viewers. As a result, Seven was a narrow winner in the metros — in the regions it was a big winner where Ten’s main channel slipped to fourth behind the ABC.
In the morning Today with 335,000 metro viewers, moved back in front to Sunrise with 323,000. Sunrise though won the national battle, again.
