A slow night. Summer is  rapidly closing in on us viewers. Seven won the metros, and won bigger in regional markets again. News and current affairs dominated the night with seven of the the 10 most watched metro programs last night and six of the 10 top programs nationally, meaning it was a dull, dull night. SBS’s Food Channel and 9Life continue to have gains or build nicely and are having an impact on viewing.

Seven News had another big win nationally and won Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. In the metros, The Chase Australia’s 5.30pm bit whacked Hot Seat, 605,000 to 458,000. Seven though needs to make gains in Brisbane where its 6pm news remains on the nose.
