A quiet night. Australians On Porn rated well on ABC2, with the channel doubling its metro share to around 4.6% for prime time. Back Roads again stood out. Heather Ewert does not stand out in regional Australia (being a ‘bush gel’ anyway) unlike some of her urban contemporaries. It’s why the program is so solid. Back Roads managed 1.265 million national viewers.

Worryingly for Seven there is no sign of a metro build towards the final Home and Away episode of the year tomorrow night. Last night saw 788,000 metro viewers and a very high 522,000 viewers in regional Australia, which is supporting the program as metro viewers fade away. Home and Away had 1.309 million national viewers, thanks to the strong support from the regional audience.

Tonight, TBL Families ends on Ten ( you wouldn’t really know that) in a two hour extravaganza from 7.30. Over on Seven, the less than gripping BBQ one off, Aussie Barbecue Heroes ends in a “slimming” fest that lasts 75 minutes. I’d suggest the contenders on TBL duck over to Seven for a calorie top up. There would be more excitement in that than we’ve seen on TBL. But given that, it has been a modest success for Ten this year and the 10th spot nationally with 1.041 million viewers is testimony to that.
