Network Ten has changed leaders in its news and current affairs division, replacing Peter Meakin with John Choueifate as executive director of news, effective from Sunday, May 1. Choueifate was previously network news director, a role he has held since June 2014. He joined Network Ten in December 2013 as director of news, Sydney, and was headhunted by Meakin, who will take on the new role of executive consultant, news and current affairs, from May 1. That role is designed to stop him from going elsewhere. He joined Ten in February 2014 as executive director, news and current affairs. Previously he was news and current affairs boss of Seven, and before that of the Nine Network. Choueifate was previously at Seven, and before that at Nine.
