A night to lay down and avoid. Lifeless (even Gogglebox’s finale for the year was more of the same and not really interesting). The Bachelorette continued sorting out her charges. But that was it so far as colour and movement. Sylvia’s Italian Table was more of the same – a lazy idea with no purpose except to occupy half an hour on prime time on a dodgy Thursday night schedule. It had 584,000 national viewers, down from the 660,000 for the debut episode a week earlier.
GoggleBox had 1.037 million national viewers and The Bachelorette had 861,000 nationally.
Regionally the most watched programs were Seven News, 570,000, Home and Away, 495,000, Seven News/Today Tonight, 449,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm, 414,000 and The Big Bang Theory, 381,000.
Seven edged Nine narrowly in the metros, but won by a much larger margin in the regions.
Ten did well in the demos, especially 25 to 54s, in breakfast; Sunrise with 293,000 won the metros from Today (274,000). But for the second time this week, Studio 10 (90,000) beat Nine’s Today Extra with 88,000.
