The Winners: Seven News was top of the most watched list with 1.495 million viewers. The fresh episode of Two and a Half Men on Nine at 7.30pm was next with 1.424 million and My Kitchen Rules was third with 1.408 million for Seven, also at 7.30pm. The Mentalist won 8.30pm for Nine with 1.347 million, with Today Tonight 5th with 1.342 million. Nine News was 6th with 1.277 million and Nine’s Big Bang Theory was next at 8pm with 1.231 million. A Current Affair was 8th with 1.212 million and the 7pm repeat of Two and a Half Men averaged 1.171 million people. 10th was Home and Away for Seven at 7pm with 1.145 million. The 7pm ABC was 11th with 1.1030 million and Seven’s Desperate Housewives averaged 1.025 million at 8.30pm. CSI Miami returned to Nine at 9.30pm with 938,000. Australian Story on the ABC at 8pm averaged 816,000. Ten’s Good News Week averaged 815,000 to 10pm.

The Losers: The Biggest Loser elimination episode on Ten last night, 748,000. That’s a terminal figure for a key episode. The final won’t be as low, but this series can’t end fast enough.

News & CA: Seven News again won nationally and in every market but Melbourne. It won Sydney 405,000 to 366,000 for Nine, a welcome win … but there’s a long way to go. TT beat ACA, but ACA won Melbourne. The 7.30 Report averaged 782,000. Four Corners averaged 687,000, Media Watch, 605,000. Lateline, 251,000, Lateline Business, 121,000. SBS News at 6.30pm, 176,000, 143,000 for the late edition. 7am Sunrise, 377,000, 7am Today, 351,000.

The Stats:

FTA: Seven won with a combined overnight All People 6pm to midnight share 31.1% from Nine with 30.3%, Ten with 17.8%, the ABC with 15.6% and SBS on 5.2%. Nine won Sydney and Melbourne closely, Seven won Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Ten finished 4th behind the ABC in Sydney, which was a surprise.

Digital: 7TWO won with 4.3%, from GO with 2.2%, ABC 2 with 1.3%, ONE on 0.5%, ABC 3 on 0.4% and SBS TWO with 0.2%. That’s a combined overnight share of 8.7%, which is a bit low. GO and 7TWO are tied for the week on a share of 3.8% each.

Main Channels: Nine won with a combined overnight share of 28.1%, from Seven with 26.8%, Ten with 17.4%, ABC 1, 13.9% and SBS ONE with 5.0%. Nine leads the week 27.5% to 26.7% for Seven.

Pay TV: Seven won with a combined overnight share of 25.9%, from Nine with 25.2%, Ten with 14.8%, Pay TV, 14.6%, the ABC, 13.0% and SBS, 4.3%. The 11 FTA channels had a combined overnight share of 85.4%, Pay TV had its 14.6% for the more than 100 channels on offer.

Regional: A clear win to WIN/NBN for Nine with a combined overnight 6 pm to midnight All People share of 31.1%, with Prime/7Qld with 28.2%, the ABC on 17.3%, Southern Cross (Ten) on 17.0% and SBS with 6.4%. 7TWO won the digital battle with 3.2% from GO with 1.5%.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: Seven won narrowly with 7TWO beat GO and the other digital channels. But Nine won Melbourne and Sydney. Seven News in Sydney with Chris Bath had a good win over Nine News with Peter Overton. Deal or No Deal beat Hot Seat at 5.30pm, but not by much. It’s early days. Sunrise beat Today clearly, even with the latter’s Games coverage.

The Mentalist did well again for Nine. And Seven News won Melbourne on Sunday night, not Nine. Time for another look at my prescription, I think.

Q&A, 447,000 for Peter Garrett, Christopher Pyne and others at 9.30pm on the ABC. It was OK at best. Not a match on Enough Rope with Andrew Denton.

TONIGHT: Foreign Correspondent on the ABC at 8pm. My Kitchen Rules on Seven at 7.30pm. NCIS on Ten at 8.30pm. Insight on SBS at 7.30pm. Top Gear is back on Nine at 7.30pm with the fresh episode and then 8.30pm with a repeat. It will do well, but it is no longer a must watch for me. Jeremy Clarkson has become a caricature of himself. Nothing wrong with James May or Richard Hammond.
